The Brad Project intends to bring together all those public and private
experiences, particularly those promoted by private social
organizations, which have had as primary purpose the
obtainment and reuse of "forgotten" spaces, pursuing paths that do not follow
the rigid laws of the real estate market, experiences that
have implemented methods that are less codified and more
experimental, such as, for example, self-construction, voluntary work,
self-financing, concessions, donations, "squatting", etc.
The purpose of this project is to collect and code and, especially, to allow
these experiences, that are too precious to remain hidden, to be spread on the
net. The Brad project is the chance to set up an international network of
groups and cases that can provide information that can develop through dialog
and reciprocal knowledge; information that can offer examples to public
administrations to direct their own policies of reuse of abandoned areas;
information that can be helpful to anyone who wants to undertake the
re-qualification of an abandoned area, taking advantage of the experiences, of
the successes, of the failures but especially of the courage of those who have
succeeded.
