Beste mensen,
Zoals het er nu naar uitziet zal Amerika vroeg of laat zijn woede koelen
door middel van een bombardement op Afganistan, als Afganistan Osama bin
Laden niet uitlevert. Uiteraard mag dit bombardement er nooit komen! Het
is verschrikkelijk wat er gebeurt is in New York, duizenden mensen zijn
omgekomen, maar dat maakt het nog niet terecht dat Amerika er nog eens
duizenden vermoord!
Steun het protest tegen dit bombardement, stuur een mailtje naar
president@whitehouse.gov met als subject "Please do not bomb
Afghanistan" (of als je een beter subject weet, gebruik je dat), even
het bericht hieronder in dat mailtje plakken (of schrijf een eigen
mailtje, als je dat liever doet), je eigen naam en eventueel stad, land
en e-mail adres eronder en verzenden maar!

Of course I also find it terrible what happened last tuesday in New York
and Washington. Hereby my deepest sympathy.
I saw on television and on the internet that you and many Americans want
to bomb Afghanistan if Afghanistan doesn't hand over Osama bin Laden. I
would like to bring to your attention that bombing Afghanistan is one
thing you should never do. Many innocent people died in New York and
Washington, I don't think it's necessary that more innocent people die,
no matter where. Violence only brings violence, it's up to you to break
this circle. Nobody deserves to die, especially not because someone, who
is accidentally in the same country as they are, may have bombed
America. Basically, when you bomb Afghanistan (or any country), you are
just as horrible as the person who bombed your country. I hope you will
think about this before you make your final decision.
