Street cinema in Amsterdam South East

The street cinema will be in Amsterdam South East with a program on
migration. In a time were the policies concerning refugees and immigrants is
getting tougher every day, it is important show the daily reality of some of the
migrants. The daily reality brought to you by filmmakers who are active in a
battle for a just refugee- en migration policy. A policy which isn’t based on
notes, prejudices and fear, but based on real interest, mutual interest.
During the street cinema there is attention for the situation of migrants in the
Spanish enclave Mellila in Morocco, police violence against migrants in Great
Brittan and by sufficient interest also Woomera, a prison for refugees in
Australia. Apart from the documentaries we will screen films, which deal with
themes related to the documentaries.

Mellila, L’Europe au pied du mur
Documentary about the construction of a new iron curtain around Europe. The
film deals with the Spanish enclave Ceuta – Mellila in Morocco where many
refugees from North
Africa and Sub-Saharan countries come to take their change to enter the
European Union. (Spanish, Arabic and French spoken, English subtitled)

Western
Road-movie with instead cowboys and other heroes two men, the Catalan Paco
(a shoes salesman whose trade was stolen) and the Russian Nino in search for a
legal existence in France, are looking for a partner for Nino in the far West of
France. (French spoken, Dutch subtitled)
