Turkse en Koerdische vrouwen strijdvaardiger dan ooit!
Turkse en Koerdische vrouwen in Turkije hebben de laatste jaren een
duidelijkere politieke en buitenparlementaire plek opgeëist in de strijd
tegen de repressie van de Turkse staat. De Nederlandse deelneemster van
de Internationale Vrouwendelegatie, die eind juni in Turkije was, zal
meer vertellen over de diverse vrouwenorganisaties, de campagne voor
maatschappelijke vrede en algemene amnestie, en de repressie door de
Turkse autoriteiten.
Turkish and Kurdish women ready to resist!
Recently, Turkish and Kurdish women in Turkey have demanded a stronger
political and non-governmental position in the fight against the
repression by the Turkish state. The Dutch representative of the
International Women_s Delegation, who was in Turkey last June shall
enlighten us on the various women_s organisations, the campaign for
civil peace and a general amnesty for political prisoners and the
repression by the Turkish officials.

Een feministische kijk op de Israëlische vredesbeweging
Israëlische vredesactiviste die voor een week in Nederland is doet
verslag van de huidige situatie in Israël en geeft uitleg over de
vredesbeweging aldaar, specifiek over dienstweigeraars. Er zal dieper
ingegaan worden op de positie van vrouwen in de beweging, de verplichte
dienstplicht voor vrouwen en haar kritiek op de verheerlijking van
dienstweigeraars die gevangen zitten. Aansluitend discussie.
A feminist view on the Irael peace movement
Israel peace activist who is visiting the Netherlands for a week gives
an update on the current situation in Israel and explains about the
peace movement there, with particular reference to the refusal movement
there. She will focus on the position of women in the movement, the
obligatory military service for them and her critique on the
glorification of conscientious objectors in prison. With discussion
afterwards.

De sprookjesfiguren hebben er genoeg van. Vooral nu De Efteling het bos
wil kappen waar hun vrienden wonen, de egels, dassen, elfjes... En dat
voor hotels! Efteling bewoners komen in aktie! Zij zijn de LefLaven en
beschermen nu het bos. Geen gewoon bos. De Leflaven en de mensen hebben
boomhutten gebouwd. Samen zijn zij een Groen Front. Welk sprookjesfiguur
heeft het aangedurfd om naar ons infocafe af te reizen en ons daar meer
sprookjes te vertellen? Assepoester of de prins op het witte paard? Kom
langs!

The fairytale figures have had enough. Especially now De Efteling, a
large Dutch theme park, wants to cut down the woods where their friends
live, the hedgehogs, the badgers, the fairies_And just because they want
to build hotels! Efteling inhabitants start protesting. They are the
Leflaven and now protect the woods. These are no normal woods though.
The Leflaven and the humans have built tree houses. Together they are a
Groen Front. Which fairytale figure has had the courage to travel all
the way to our infocafe? Cinderella or Prince Charming? Come and see!

Ludovic is een jongetje dat liever meisjeskleren draagt, zich als een
meisje gedraagt, met de buurjongen wil trouwen en niet begrijpt waarom
iedereen dat zo gek vind. Na de film een gesprek over gender.
Ludovic is a small boy who cross-dresses and generally acts like a girl,
talks of marrying the boy next door and cannot understand why everyone
is so surprised about it. After the film we will talk together about it.

zullen geven voor een gender/ feministische discussie over onderwerpen
als seksualiteit, racisme en ongelijkheid. Deze vrouwelijke
filmmaaksters maken films en veranderen onze blik op film en onze eigen
levens. Films gevolgd door discussie. Voor verversingen wordt gezorgd.
A selection of international independent cinema that will fuel a
gender/feminist discussion on topics such as sexuality, racism, and
inequality. These women filmmakers are creating cutting edge cinema and
changing the way we view film and our own lives. Film followed by
discussion. Refreshments served.

Lori Petty speelt de door het Britse stripboek geïnspireerde heldin die
houdt van sigaretten, bier, haar gemuteerde kangaroevriendje en haar
pantservoertuig. In 2033, als water op aarde schaars is, nemen
tankmeisje en haar bende het al feestbeestend op tegen het corrupte
hoofd van het Departement van Water en Kracht. Met als eeuwige
slechterik Malcolm McDowell en Ice-T als kangaroe.
Lori Petty is the British comic book inspired heroine who enjoys
cigarettes, her half-man, half kangaroo boyfriend en her armoured tank.
In the water depleted world of 2033, Tank Girl and her gang are out to
party hard while taking on the corrupt head of the Department of Water
and Power. Starring Malcolm McDowell as the bad guy and Ice-T as a
kangaroo.

Voorbereiding op de WTO-top
De eerstvolgende vergadering van de Wereld Handels Organisatie (WHO) zal
plaatsvinden van 10 tot en met 14 september in Cancun in Mexico. Op deze
infoavond zal precies worden uitgelegd wat er op het programma staat in
Cancun, vooral de vastbesloten opzet van de Europese Unie om de grip van
internationale bedrijven op de wereld te verstevigen door de macht van
de WHO vergaand te vermeerderen. Ook zal er gediscussieerd worden over
zowel de acties die gepland zijn voor Cancun als mede een
brainstormsessie over het plannen van lokalere acties Preparation for
the WTO-summit
The next World Trade Organisation (WTO) meeting is due to take place in
Cancun, Mexico, September 10th-14th.This will be an information evening
explaining exactly what is on the agenda at Cancun, in particular the
European Union_s determination to further tighten the grip of
transnational corporations on the world by radically expanding the WTO_s
powers. There will also be a discussion of actions planned for Cancun
and a brainstorming session for more local action planning.
