1. Globalisation and the media

The United States has spent the last 50 years constructing the present New
World Order. Aided by its powerful military resources, alongside the IMF,
World Bank and the World Trade Organisation, the rules of global trade
have been largely imposed to serve its own interests. This documentary
explores the role of the media in this corporate led take over of the
Planets natural resources.

We explore how the media is involved in shaping public opinion during the
‘War on Terrorism’. Undercurrents offers a wide range of viewpoints from
broadcasters, journalists, computer hackers, media activists, and news
editors. We investigate the bias of Television news during the protest
blockades of the IMF and the G8 summits. Travelling from Nigeria to
Britain we report on the violent suppression of alternative media.
Discover how new technology, such as the internet and camcorders, is
challenging the role of the traditional news gatherer.

2. We interrupt this empire
"We Interrupt This Empire..." is a collaborative work by many of the Bay
Area's independent video activists which documents the direct actions that
shut down the financial district of San Francisco in the weeks following
the United States' invasion of Iraq. With the audio backdrop including the
live broadcasts of SF Indymedia's Enemy Combatant Radio and the SFPD's
tactical communications that were picked up by police scanners, the
documentary takes a look at the diverse show of resistance from the
streets of San Francisco as well as providing a critique of the coporate
media coverage of the war and exploring such issues as the Military
Industrial Complex, attacks on civil liberties, and the United States'
current imperialist drive.

3. On the busses

Op weg naar het militaire vliegveld Fairford werden demonstranten in drie
bussen ge kidnapt door de politie en moesten terugkeren naar London. Tot
de hoge raad hebben zij geprocedeerd om hun gelijk te halen.

Anti-war protestors are today celebrating a judgement which ruled that the
police acted unlawfully in detaining them for 2½ hours without arrests.

The High Court ruled today that Police violated the Human Rights Act when
they illegally detained 120 protestors en route to a demonstration at RAF
Fairford, Gloucestershire. This ruling will impact significantly on
policing of future demonstrations and will have implications for the May
Day 2001/Oxford Circus cases against the Metropolitan Police later this
year.

The ruling was welcomed as a clarification of a draconian power which
Parliament has never debated or sanctioned. However the protestors feel
that the judgement should have gone further and ruled that the police also
denied them two other human rights: freedom of assembly and freedom of
expression. The protestors have permission to take their case to the
Court of Appeal.

Last March, the protestors and their coaches were searched for nearly two
hours and forced back to London under a heavy police escort “to prevent a
breach of the peace.” The police argued that this was justified because
the protestors were, in their view, “well-armed”.

The Vrije Keyser is zowel radio als televisie en bestaat al sinds december
1979. De radio was altijd op dinsdag van 12.00 tot 20.00 te beluisteren op
de 96.3 FM in de
Amsterdamse vrije ether. De TV heeft wel een piraten verleden van enkele
uitzendingen
gekend, maar is sinds 1998 elke dinsdag van 20.00 tot 21.00 uur te zien op
Amsterdam 1 (A1), het Amsterdamse open kanaal. Vrije Keyser is echter niet
alleen een uur televisie per week. Camera's en studio staan ter
beschikking van acties en campagnes. Vrije
Keyser heeft het afgelopen jaar al met diverse groepen samengewerkt. Wil
je een actie filmen (gefilmd hebben), een campagne video maken, een
addbuster in elkaar zetten of andere mogelijkheden van audiovisuele
