besloten ons visie op papier te zetten en in de buurt te verspreiden
(hieronder de nederlandse , spaanse en engelse versie)

WAT ER WERKELIJK GEBEURDE?!
een visie op de gebeurtenissen van zondag 11 augustus door kraakgroep oost
DE KRAAK
Op deze bewuste zondag vertrokken wij om Madurastraat 39 huis te kraken.
Dit is een gerenoveerd appartement in een verticaal gesplitst pand.
Volgens onze informatie stond het al anderhalf jaar leeg voornamelijk door
de exorbitant hoge prijs die de eigenaar er voor vraagt. Toen wij de
woning betraden bleek er net iemand ingetrokken te zijn. Hoewel het te
koop bord nog voor het raam hing. Wij denken dat dit een antikraker is. Op
dat moment was de politie reeds gearriveerd
Aan de politie gaf onze woordvoerder de fout toe en bood aan de deur te
repareren en de schade te betalen. Dit aanbod werd niet geaccepteerd en de
politie besloot de woordvoerder te arresteren. Hierop ontstond een duw en
trekpartij waarbij de politie wild in het rond spoot met pepperspray. De
uitkomst hiervan was een regelrechte razzia. 16 mensen werden op straat
gearresteerd terwijl ze op de grond gegooid werden en de politieknuppels
flink in het rond sloegen. De dienders drongen zelfs een pand aan de
Borneostraat binnen en arresteerde nog eens 15 mensen die niets met de
kraak te maken hadden. Zij werden op hun knieen op de grond gezet met hun
handen in hun nek. Later op de avond werden 10 van deze mensen vrijgelaten
omdat de politie uiteindelijk ook bedacht had dat ze er niets mee te maken
hadden. De rest werd maandagavond vrijgelaten en slechts drie van hen
hebben een aanklacht gekregen. Dat betekend dat 28 mensen voor niks
gearresteerd zijn en tegen hun wil enkele uren tot bijna een hele nacht
zijn vastgehouden
HUISVESTING IN DE INDISCHE BUURT
Dit was een overduidelijk geval van buitenproportioneel politieoptreden
wat we echt niet willen in de Indische buurt. Ook zijn we niet blij met de
enorme leegstand in de buurt, niet alleen vanwege sloop en renovatie, maar
ook door het voortdurende proces van buurtdifferentiatie. De bewoners
hebben veel inspraak verloren over het woonbeleid op het moment dat de
woningbouwcorporaties geprivatiseerd werden. Nu wil onze kapitalistische
regering dat 80% van de goedkope woningvoorraad wordt verkocht aan
eigenaar-bewoners. Met andere woorden iedereen die het huis waar hij woont
niet kan kopen moet de buurt uit
BUURTMANIFESTATIE
Hierdoor belanden we in een onwenselijke situatie. Ondanks het feit dat we
werken en belasting betalen word een van onze grondrechten niet
gegarandeerd. Namelijk ons recht op betaalbare en veilige huisvesting.
Zolang het neo-liberale systeem geen oplossing voor dit probleem biedt
lossen wij het zelf op door gezamenlijke directe actie
In Amsterdam heerst grote woningnood. Ondertussen staan er heel veel
panden leeg. Dit is de belangrijkste reden waarom wij kraken. Dat wil
zeggen, als we iets nodig hebben dan nemen we dat wat niet gebruikt wordt.
Dat zouden meer mensen moeten doen. Wonen is namelijk een grondrecht, net
zoals water, kleding en voedsel. Het recht in eigen hand nemen is niet
alleen een oplossing voor vele sociale problemen, het is ook een manier om
het kapitalisme en de macht van multinationals en grote bedrijven te
bestrijden. Aangezien zij er enkel op uit zijn om ons gezamenlijk bezit te
privatiseren Wanneer u uw huis uit moet omdat er gerenoveerd of gesloopt
gaat worden, of wanneer uw huis verkocht wordt, denk dan nog eens na over
ons alternatief
Voor meer informatie over kraken en krakers en voor een leuke middag,
nodigen wij u uit voor onze buurtmanifestatie op zaterdag 24 augustus. We
beginnen met een rondleiding door de buurt om 13.00 uur op de hoek van de
Borneostraat en de Celebesstraat. Deze eindigt op het Javaplein rond 15.00
uur aldaar zullen sprekers, muziek, lekker eten en verschillende acts de
middag tot een waar feest maken

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

THE SQUATTING ACTION
On Sunday 11 august we, Squatting Group East, set out to squat
Madurastraat 39 HS. This house is a renovated apartment in a divided
building. To our best knowledge the house had been empty for almost one
and a half year because of the excessive price the owner is asking for it.
When we entered the house to our great surprise it was in use. The house
was still for sale, but the inside looked as if someone just moved in We
assume this person is an anti squatter. At this moment the police had
already arrived
In the negotiation with the police we admitted our mistake and offered to
repair the door and repay the damage. The offer was not accepted, instead
the police decided to arrest the negotiator. We did not agree with this so
a little squeamish broke out in which the police used pepper spray
excessively The consequence was a mass arrest. 16 People were arrested in
the street while being thrown to the ground and hit by police The police
even took 15 people from a squat on the Borneostraat who had nothing to do
with the whole thing They were put outside with their knees on the floor
and their hands in their necks. 10 of them were released the same night
because the police finally found out they were not involved The rest was
released on Monday evening. Only 3 people got a court order. This means
the other 28 were arrested and kept against their will for nothing at all
HOUSING IN THE INDISCHE BUURT
This was a perfect example of excessive police violence which we don't
want anymore in our neighbourhood. What we don't like either is the
enormous amount of houses remaining empty, not only because of demolition
and rebuilding, but also because of the ongoing gentrification process.
People lost a lot of influence over the policies of the housing
corporations after these got privatized. In stead corporate managers took
over Now our capitalist government wants 80 % of the social rented houses
being sold to private owner-inhabitants. In other words everybody who
cannot afford to buy the house they live in should leave the neighbourhood
NEIGHBOURHOOD MANIFESTATION
Because of this we are put in an unacceptable situation Although we are
working and paying taxes one of our basic social rights is not granted,
our right to affordable and secure housing. As the neo-liberal system does
not offer any solution to this problem we have decided to solve it
ourselves by the means of collective direct action
In Amsterdam there is a big need for housing. At the same time many houses
remain empty. This is the main reason why we squat. In other words, in
times of need we take what's unused. More people should do this, because
it's a human right to have a house, like it's a human right to have food
and clothes. This is not only a way to solve a social problem it is also a
way to fight capitalism and the power of multi-nationals and corporate
business who are only out to privatize our common property. So if you have
to be out of your house for renovation, demolition or because your house
will be sold to the highest bidder, think about our alternative

invite you to our neighbourhood manifestation on august 24. We will start
with a guided tour at 13.00 hrs. on the corner of Borneostraat and

Vision del gruppo okupa amsterdam este sobre los acontecimientos del
domingo 11 de agosto por el
LA OCUPACION
El
domingo 11 de
agosto el grupo de ocupacion del este intento una accion en Madurastraat
39 HS. Se trataba de un apartamento en un edificio anteriormente
remodelado y dividido De acuerdo con nuestros conocimientos la casa
llevaba vacia como minimo un anho y medio a causa del excesivo precio que
el duenho pedi por el. Una vez dentro, y para nuestra sorpresa, la casa
estaba en uso y aunque el cartel de `en venta` permanecia en la ventana
habia indicios evidentes de una reciente mudanza. Suponemos que se trataba
de un antisquatter. En ese momento la policia llego.
Durante la
negociacion admitimos el error ofreciendo reparar la puerta y pagar los
danhos. La oferta no fue aceptada y en su lugar la policia intento
arrestar
al portavoz. El resto del grupo no estuvo de acuerdo con esta decision lo
que nos condujo a un pequenho forcejeo en el que la policia hizo un uso
desmesurado de pepper spray. La cosecuencia fue un arresto masivo. 16
personas fueron detnidas en la calle de modo violento, arrojadas al suelo
y golpeadas con porras. Tambien se detuvo a 15 personas de una ocupa de
Borneostraat, las cuales no tenian nada que ver con la ocupacion. Estos
fueron sacados fuera y obligados a arrodillarse con las manos en la nuca.
10 de ellos fueon liberados esa misma noche ante la evidencia de no estar
involucrados. El resto fueron liberados el lunes a media tarde. Solo tres
personas de todo el grupo tienen causa judicial pendiente. Esto significa
que los otros 28 fueron arrestados y retenidos contra sus derechos sin
motivo alguno.
LA VIVIENDA EN EL INDISCHE BUURT
Tal hecho fue un claro
ejemplo de excesiva violencia policial que no podemos consentir en el
barrio. Lo que tampoco vamos a consentir es la gran cantidad de casas
vacias y en desuso no solo por remodelacion o demolicion, sino por el
creciente proceso de reordenamiento social. Con este y la consequente
privatizacion de viviendas el pueblo ha perdido toda influencia sobre los
hogares y en su lugar han tomado el poder las grandes coorporaciones.
Ahora nuestro govierno capitalista quiere que un 80% de las casas
actualmente sociales se transformen en viviendas de propiedad privada. En
otras palabras todos aquellos que no puedan pagar la casa en la que vieven
deberan marchar.
MANIFESTACIîN EN EL BARRIO
A causa de esto nos
encontramos en una situacion inaceptable. Aunque la mayoria de nosotros
estamos trabajando y pagando impuestos, uno de los derechos sociales
basicos no esta garantizado: el derecho a una vivienda accesible y segura.
En vistas que el sistema neoliberal que rige no nos ofrece ninguna
solucion, hemos decidido resolverlo nosotros mismos mediante la acci—n
directa colectiva.
En Amsterdam hay una gran necesidad de vivienda.
Mientras tanto muchas casas permanecen vacias. Esta es la principal razon
por la que ocupamos. Es decir, ante la necesidad tomamos lo que nadie usa.
Mas gente debera hacer esto, porque es un derecho humano tener una casa,
como lo son el derecho a comida y ropa. Por otro lado, Esto no es solo la
solucion a un problema social, es tambien una forma de luchar contra el
capitalismo y el poder de las multinacionales y corporaciones uœnicamente
empeadas en privatizar nuestros bienes comunes Por eso, si te encuentras
en la situacion de ser expulsado de tu hogar por remodelacion, demolicion
o porque la casa va a ser vendida al mejor postor, piensa en nuestra
alternativa.
Con el fin de ofreceros mas informacion de como actuamos y
passar un buen rato, nos gustaria invitaros a la manifestacion que el
sabado 24 de agosto tendra lugar en el vecindario esta empezara a las
13:00 hr. con una marcha que partiendo de la esquina de Borneostraat con
Celebesstraat avanzara por el barrio hasta Javaplein, donde a las 15:00
hr. se dara comienzo a un seguido de eventos que contaran con altavoces
comida, performances i muœsica.
